We believers must be mindful as we get excited and zealous with that overwhelming hunger and unquenchable thirst to be used of the Lord, and in the Gifts of the Spirit, that once God does begin to use us in a great way in His gifts ministry, there will be times when you will feel used! But that's part of it. Jesus was moved with compassion toward the people. This is something that really got into my spirit; toward the people, not away from the people. I've found out that when I'm really tired, if I'll go toward the people, I'll find somebody who is more tired, more weary, more hurt, more used-up, more burned-out, than I may be, and just in ministering and restoring them by the Spirit, reconciling them into that place of excitement, where there is peace, joy, and righteousness in the Holy Ghost, He will fill and re-fill me!

In Matthew 20:29-34, we read:

And as they departed from Jerico, a great multitude followed him. And behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace; but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you? They said unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

You know, sometimes it can become a nuisance to have people follow you. I've had people follow me and sometimes you just want to say, "Would you mind?", "would you please take a hike?' I mean, sometimes it gets very tiresome. But we see here he says that as they departed from Jerico, a great multitude followed him. And behold, two blind men sitting by the wayside, when they heard that Jesus passed by, they cried out, saying, "have mercy on us, oh Lord, thou son of David." And the multitude rebuked them because they should hold their peace.

How many times have you cried out for help and they say you can't do it because - you can't do it because? Honey, scream it louder until somebody with compassion hears you! There is somebody with compassion that will hear you. I don't care who tells you to shut-up, if you need help, don't stop screaming until you get it! It says that they said to them to hold their peace, but they cried out louder, even more so, and said, have mercy on us thou son of David. And Jesus stood still and he said, "What do you want me to do for you"? What do YOU want Jesus to do for you? "What is it that I shall do unto you"? And they said, "Lord, that our eyes may be opened". Oh Lord, just open our eyes? So Jesus had compassion on them. He didn't put them on a waiting list for three weeks, but he stood still! He stood still and had compassion on them and touched their eyes, and immediately their eyes received sight and they followed him. Something that I've found to be true as I've watched people over the years and that is the beautiful truth we see here when he opened their blind eyes, they followed him. Once you've had your eyes opened to the truth of God's word, you too will follow him. People who don't follow him and accept all of his Word have not had their eyes opened.

I think of the multitude of people telling these men to hold their peace, to be quiet and I want to tell you that I could not count the times I've seen this in meetings where a hurting person who had been told that they were dying and only a few breaths left, they would cry out, become emotional and sometimes scream out of desperation for help only to have some minister call on ushers to usher them out the door so they wouldn't disturb them as they were teaching profound truths. I always had the same thought, that, it's easy to silence the blind men when you can see! We who have our physical sight, can, for appearance sake, stress decency and order, but what if it were you or I who was blind and Jesus the Healer was in hearing distance, would you obey man and keep quiet… and blind… or scream to the top of your lungs and "SEE" where you're going when it's time to return to your home? I can easily answer that one for the both of us.

Just in case you perhaps have been following everything under the sun besides Jesus, he will move with compassion for you and remove those spiritual blinders from your eyes and when you see him, you will want to follow him! God wants us to see whether it be physical eyesight or spiritual eyesight. God DOES give sight to the blind!
