In verse 22 he says, “it is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not all consumed because his compassions fail not!” One thing we can rest assured that will never fail us is his compassions. They can never fail! His mercy and his compassion will rescue you no matter what situation you are in, even if it is your own fault that you wound up in your predicament, his compassion will not fail you. It doesn’t fail, but you’ve got to remember; you’ve got to be mindful of it. HIS COMPASSIONS FAIL NOT! AMEN!

So now let’s read on. It says that, “they are new every morning”. You can’t wear his compassions out. Every morning they are new and they fail not. Every day you have new compassion extended your way from our Father, and it won’t fail if you acknowledge it, and recall it to your mind, that he has compassion toward you that cannot fail. He said they are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness. God is faithful. And his compassions fail not. The Lord is my portion saith my soul. Therefore will I hope in him. I will have a confident expectation of good in my life, in Him. That’s something we all have. He said, “the Lord is good to them that wait for him”. That word wait doesn’t mean to lie down and do nothing. People are always telling me how that they’ve done everything and nothing’s worked and upon asking them what they are doing now, they nearly always say the same thing, “waiting on God”. I always want to ask them to show me how to wait upon God and the times when I have asked, they sit with their eyes closed, sometimes rocking back and forth and pose as if they’re waiting to hear a fire alarm. But when we truly wait upon the Lord, our strength will be renewed. We won’t come directly from waiting upon the Lord to manic-depression and total weariness! I often say that some people are in revival while for others its survival! Nevertheless, something I see in so many lives is weariness. There is a way to be free from weariness. The word says that, “they that wait upon the Lord shall run and not be weary”. God’s will for you is not weariness, no matter what!

If we wait upon the Lord, we’ll not be weary. If I’m weary and all strung out, I’m not waiting upon the Lord! Plain and simple. Waiting upon the Lord is not sitting back and looking squirrelly, goofy, and ignorant. Waiting upon the Lord is something I think of as a waiter, or waitress, in a restaurant. While the meal is being prepared, they keep my water glass full; warm my coffee, check with me to see if they can do anything for me while my meal is being prepared. In our case, we minister to the Lord while he is working our situation out. We praise him, give him all of ourselves, and do his will by waiting upon him, ministering to him. In a restaurant we don’t go looking under every table and chair for our food, we keep our eyes on the waiter or waitress. After all, they’re the one we gave our order too. In God, he is the one we pray to so keep your eyes on him. He will be the one who brings your miracle and prayer-answer. Something else we learn about eating in a restaurant is that when we place the order, we never put the waitress on a time limit and count the seconds. Our meal will be served when, and only when it has been prepared to our liking! God holds the timing in his hands to all that concerns us. Another thing I’ll share about our attitude as we wait is this: no restaurant is special just because I eat there! I eat there because the food that is specially prepared. Don’t think that you’re special just because you love God. The truth is, you’re special because God loves YOU! He paid a great price for you. He bought you with his own blood. You are valuable to God. And so it says, “the Lord is good to them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope [have a confident expectation of good] and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord”. God’s compassions fail not.

Every time I have ministered on this subject, God's compassion has come in a tangible way and healed every kind of misfortune imaginable; hidden hurts, embarrassing moments, tremendous shame, physical illness, emotional trauma, hearts stricken with grief, and all kinds of things, simply by looking to Jesus, the divine expression of God's compassion extended to mankind. His compassion comes without fail. Even as you read this book, God's compassion will come to you. You'll sense it and when you do, don't tune it out. It is being extended toward you and I urge you at that very moment, regardless of what's going on around you to just begin to renew your mind, your thoughts, and everything going on within you, direct towards him and allow his compassion to come to you in such a powerful way that you'll not feel let-down, that you'll no longer feel like a failure - at anything, but that he will finally be able to do in you what he has been wanting to do all along, and to do what you've desired that he do.
