Acts 10:38 shows us the absolute truth about sickness, where it comes from, who causes it, and WHO cures it.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power; who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

It seems quite obvious to me that this verse alone is basically self-explanatory, saying that Jesus healed who (?), all that were oppressed of the devil. Those who were sick were oppressed of the devil, and looking for a cure, they came to Jesus and every single one who came to him found relief … he healed them all! Every single one of them!

In Mark 5:1-20 we read the testimonial of the demoniac of Gadara, the guy who was full of a legion of demons, not only did he have those devils, those devils came out and went into all the swine. Something that really interests me about this story as I sit down and read this account of God's delivering power; my natural mind cannot fathom just how big our human spirit really is! Sometimes we feel really small, like a nothin', and too often even while God is giving us a great breakthrough, we still tend to think too small.

In reading this passage of scripture of Jesus commanding those devils to come out of this man, the devils we're told sought to enter into the swine. Notice, it took two thousand hogs to hold the number of devils that Jesus cast out of one man! One man had so many devils that it took two thousand hogs to hold all of them!

My conclusion, if one man's spirit can hold so many devils that it takes two thousand hogs to contain them all; can you imagine how much of the anointing of the Holy Spirit you can carry inside of you? YOU have the potential to carry enough of the anointing of the Holy Ghost in you from the moment He anoints you with his Spirit to touch the world with Jesus and destroy the yoke of bondage in the lives of every individual person you meet for the rest of your human life! You have that much potential!

Mark 5:l9 says:

Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

Compassion caused the Lord Jesus to set a man who had a legion of devils free. His compassion will be equally effective in setting you or your loved ones free too!

If Jesus had not had compassion on this man, do you know what the end result would have been for this man? We see where these demons took the hogs, ran them down the hill, violently, and drowned them in the sea, and if that were not enough, choked them too!

This is what devils do to people who give him place. Jesus' compassion delivered this man just in time or his end result would have been, violently running down a steep place into the sea and being choked to death. Fortunately for this man, Jesus wasn't just some hot-shot, anointed preacher-man, who talked loudly and acted obnoxious, but rather was moved with compassion, a compassion that flowed from the deepest depths of his very being towards the needy lives around him.
